Rich Hill Softball vs. Barstow

Last night, March 29, the Rich Hill Lady Tigers traveled to Martin City to play the Barstow Lady Knights.  Last year when the Lady Tigers played the Knights, the Tigers were run-ruled in the third inning with a score of 18 to 3.  This year the Tigers came more prepared and confident.  Rich Hill had their offense going early scoring two runs in the first inning and had a quick three outs on defense.  In the third inning, Barstow started to get their offense going as well scoring four runs, putting the score 5 to 3, Barstow.  In the fourth, both teams were hitting well, but struggled on defense.  The score was 9 to 7.  All seven innings were played, but the score stayed the same, 9 to 7, not falling in the Lady Tigers favor.

“Although it is tough to lose any game, I am proud of the way we played and we always kept trying.  We just made a few more little mistakes than Barstow, but with practice it will come” said captain Ashlyn Kithcart.

Saturday, March 31, the Tigers will finish out the Rich Hill Tournament playing Drexel and Osceola.  Their first game is at 2 p.m.  Come out and support the Tigers!

Softball Season Begins!

The softball team getting ready to start the game.

Last night the Lady Tigers softball team player their first game of the season. The Lady Hornets traveled to Rich Hill to face off against the Tigers for a 4:30 game. The Tigers took the field first being the home team. The Tigers started off well in the first inning with pitcher Michaela Norbury leading them to a fast 3 outs, with no body on base. The Tigers continued to play hard, and keep the momentum going their way. In the fifth inning the Lady Tigers got the best of the Hornets and went on a scoring run. With two outs they scored 8 runs. The Lady Tigers won the game by the run rule of being up 10 after 5 innings. Pitcher Michaela Norbury had 4 strikeouts, and 4 base on balls.

The girls will have another game tonight at Barstow. Good luck Tigers!

Another school year has quickly flown by and a new crop of graduates will be putting on those attractive caps and gowns for graduation.  This post is mainly intended for those future graduates and their parents.  Each year the local newspapers publish a special edition with the photos of the members of the graduating class.  Mrs. Wheatley needs each senior to turn in a senior picture to be used for this purpose.

The Senior class will also be putting together a video similar to those done in previous years that include a senior picture, a baby picture, and snapshots.  Pictures can be e-mailed to Mrs. Wheatley ( jwheatle@richhill.k12.mo.us ) or the pictures can be brought into school to be scanned. Parents….if you send pictures with your student, be sure and remind them to bring them back home to you!  Also any members of the community who might have a fun snapshot of members of the graduating class that you would like to share, feel free to do so.

Just for fun, take a look at the senior pictures that have been turned in so far.
