This year, at RHHS, we have a new music/band teacher, Mrs. Palmer. She graduated college from North West Missouri State University, and for her first year of teaching, decided to come to Rich Hill. She has been playing instruments for 15 years. the first instrument she learned was the trumpet in 5th grade. We are looking forward to a great year with Mrs. Palmer and are excited for new things.

Rich Hill High School has a new math teacher and assistant football coach this year by the name of Mr. Brown. Mr. Brown comes to us from Windsor where he was also a math teacher a football coach. He comes to Rich Hill looking for a better opportunity. Mr. Brown grew up in Holden where he attended school from 7th to 12th grade. He went to college at UCM where he got a masters degree in Computer Science and Mathematics. Previously, Mr. Brown had a career as a Software Engineer and worked on nuclear submarines and also built video games for the army. He left that job to become a teacher. His favorite quote to tell his students would be “Never be afraid of math.”

Rich Hill High School has a new Business teacher this year named Mrs. Bruce. She comes to us from Walker, MO where she was a stay at home mom and a substitute teacher. She came to Rich Hill looking for a better teaching opportunity. Mrs. Bruce has two degrees, one in business administration and the other in business education. She is also the sponsor for FBLA.

Which class can come up with the best “break-down” to show their Tiger Pride? We will find out next Friday, September 7th at the Homecoming Assembly. The RHHS Student Council is sponsoring this contest to promote school spirit. Classes will be scored on participation, volume, and creativity.

Student Council will be selling t-shirts for Homecoming 2012. The shirts will be white with the design featured below and will cost $10.00 each. The order will be sent in next Tuesday morning. If you are interested in ordering a shirt please contact one of the student council officers listed below, or print and return the attached form and payment to Mrs. Jennifer Wheatley (student council sponsor) at the high school.
Once again, because Homecoming is next Friday, September 7th, orders need to be turned in by Tuesday morning, September 4th or sooner!!!
