The booster club is having Mrs. Bell take a picture of all the seniors that are involved in Extra Curricular activities for a photo banner to hang in the school gym. Students are to wear the uniform of their favorite extra curricular activity….this means they are responsible for getting this uniform from their coach so that they have it that day. Students are also encouraged to bring an item to represent other activities they participate in. Example: student may wear the uniform from their favorite sport and hold their instrument if they are in band….etc. We would like to have all the sports represented so please don’t just wear what uniform you have this fall because it is the easiest thing to do. Students in band, Science Olympiad, etc may wear the t shirt that represents that activity. All extra curriculars will be included.

Elementary students in the district had the opportunity to take a short field trip to the old high school to participate in the Food Power exhibit. School nurse Margie Heuser arranged the exhibit brought from the University of Missouri Extension with help from parents and high school students. The exhibit provided the elementary students a unique way to discover the importance of proper nutrition. The Food Power Adventure begins at Fred Farmer’s pizza farm here everything on a pizza starts. Students then followed food from the farm to a packaging and labeling station to inspect labels on a milk carton. The next station was the hand washing station to discover how to get rid of germs. At the variety cafeteria station, students worked to create a healthy meal. In the mouth station, students learn about and experience digestion. At the stomach station, they explore the nutrients in their food and what those nutrients do for their bodies. Students then use the energy from food to exercise to build their muscles. In the final station, the bones, students discover that healthy food choices and certain physical activities are important for building strong bones.
