The Rich Hill Tigers JV teams traveled to Appleton City for double header. The younger JV started out with a promising night trading baskets evenly during the first quarter and the lead 9-8. In the second both teams played at a fast pace trying to match each other but still at the half RH lead 21-18. In the third quarter the young Tigers were able to create a little more space on the scoreboard and lead 30-23 to start the fourth frame. The group gave it’s best shot at winning but the overall size of the Bulldogs, cold shooting and foul trouble tripped the Young Tigers up in the end and lost the game 44-36. The Tigers were lead in scoring by Tyler Hood with 9 points and Wyatt Hammett with 8.
In the second contest of the evening the JV boys came ready to play and put on a hard press and were able to turnover their counterparts over several times early in the game and never really allowed the Bulldogs a foothold in the game. At the end of the first quarter the Tigers were leading 15-2 with a basketball highlight by Aiden Humble on his first high school dunk. In the second quarter the Tigers continued their press and used it to keep the offense running and lead at the half 25-4. Working several different offensive sets the Tigers extended their lead to 35-5 at the end quarter. With a running clock the fourth quarter the time went fast and the bench was able to get their names in the score book with Tigers winning the game 42-11. Leading scorers for the Tigers were Aiden Humble with 13, Alec Grey with 12 and Mark Kailbourn with 6. Next action for the JV boys will be on Friday night against the Drexel Bobcat at 5:30 in Drexel.
