The Rich Hill Tigers started their season with a game at Lincoln this past Friday night. Despite some early miscues that dug a hole that they couldn’t climb out of, there were several positives that came out of the game. The biggest of these was that the team never gave up. The Tigers held Lincoln to 8 points in the second half and kept their composure in a tough situation. Final score 0-40 Lincoln.
Monday night the junior varsity players got to make a return trip to LIncoln with better results. The JV did well on Monday, also suffering a few miscues in the first half that could have led to scores. The half time score was 0-0. In the second half Wyatt Walton broke free for a couple of long runs that resulted in Tiger touch donws. Jason Courter and Taron Mumma both scored 2 points each on runs for the extra points. The third TD was scored after Taron Mumma blocked a punt attempt and Bailey Miller recovered it in the end zone for a touch down. Final score was 22-0 Rich HIll.
Tonight Tigers will square off against Lockwood. Lockwood is a very solid team across the board. Coach Marcus Wolfe says that the team has made some adjustments with personnel and should perform much better this week.
