Today was the inaugural meeting for a new organization at RHHS; a junior high book club. Mrs. Wheatley is going to sponsor the group with assistance from Mrs. Howerton.
There were a total of 18 students who attended the meeting. Christina Corriston volunteered to take on the role of scribe and kept minutes. The first reading is going to be “Fish in a Tree” written by Lynda Mullaly Hunt. The group discussed the quote “Everybody is smart in different ways. But if you judge a fish by its’ ability to climb a tree, it will live its’ life believing it is stupid.”
Students received permission slips that will need to be signed by parents in order to use the Nooks from the school library. Mrs. Wheatley will also have paper copies of the book available next week. The group will meet again next month on club day. Bryce Yohe, Haleigh Famoliner, and Shayna Jacobs volunteered to help Mrs. Wheatley with refreshments..
