After being out of school for Labor Day Rich Hill students came back for a busy week of school and extra-curricular activities last week. Both junior high football and volleyball teams had their first games on Tuesday night.
Junior high football matched up against the Appleton City Bulldogs for their first game of the season. The boys weren’t able to get a win but will be ready to give it another try tonight. (09/14)
All three volleyball teams struggled against the Osceola Indians on Tuesday evening (09/08) and the Tigers went home with three losses but bounced back on Thursday evening with three wins against Lakeland. The junior varsity team spent a long day playing volleyball on Saturday at the Osceola Tournament. The girls struggled to get a win in pool play but came back with a win in bracket play against Skyline and then played the Clinton Cardinals three matches in their final game of the day.
The varsity game vs Adrian was by far the best effort this season. Defensively the Tigers did a great job for three quarters. Alec Gray had a 39 yard interception and return that set up the first TD of the game. Bryant Courter scored from 1 yard out for the lead TD. Bryant Courter also had a 50 yard TD run on a quarterback keeper in the third quarter.
The Rich Hill Tiger Band took the field for the first time as well Friday night with the national anthem and “America the Beautiful” at halftime as a tribute to 09/11.
