The Varsity Boys Basketball team finished off last week by accomplishing something that had only been done two times in school history… winning the Conference Tournament. In order to win the tournament the Tigers had to beat Osceola on Saturday night. The Indians had been a thorn in the Tigers side for years but not this time. The Indians started the game off hot hitting their first two shots and jumping out to a quick 5-0 lead. Once the Tigers settled down they were able to catch back up to the Indians and even take a 10-9 lead at the end of the first quarter. Rich Hill poured on the defensive pressure in the second quarter and held Osceola to only 6 more points before the half. During that same quarter the Tigers offense got hot and they were able to add 22 points to their score. When the halftime buzzer sounded the Tigers led 32-15. The 3rd and 4th quarters were both much closer played than the second, however Rich Hill outscored the Indians in each of these quarters as well which helped them win the game, and tournament by a final score of 65-40. The Tigers next game will be played at home on Tuesdaynight vs. the Liberal Bulldogs.
