Boys Basketball at Lockwood

The JV boys traveled to Lockwood Friday night to take on the Lockwood Tigers. It was a rough night for the JV boys as they lost the game by a score of 41-23. The Tigers never could get going offensively as they struggled to score in every quarter. The first quarter was played very closely as the Lockwood Tigers held a 9-6 lead at the end of the quarter. The second quarter was another low scoring quarter with Lockwood scoring another 9 and our Tigers only scoring 7. The 3rd quarter was the difference in the game with Lockwood coming out and putting 19 on the scoreboard while the Tigers were only able to score 3. In the fourth quarter the Tigers outscored Lockwood 7-4 but it wasn’t enough to come back as the final score ended up being 41-23 Lockwood. The Tigers next game is tonight vs. the Midway Vikings.

In the Varsity contest the Rich Hill Tigers came out victorious with a 53-30 win over the Lockwood Tigers. It was all Rich Hill at the start of the game with the Tigers jumping out to a 9-1 lead due to some hot 3 point shooting from the Tigers. at the end of the first quarter the score was 15-8 Rich Hill. The Tigers extended their lead in the second quarter by pressuring the Lockwood Tigers into numerous turnovers. The score at the half was Rich Hill 28 Lockwood 14. While both teams looked a little tired in the second half, the Tigers were able to extend their lead in both the 3rd and 4th quarters to win the game by a score of 53-30. The Tigers are now 6-0 on the season and will travel to Butler on Tuesday night for a matchup against the Bears.
