The Rich Hill Lady Tigers traveled to Appleton City for the first game in the Appleton City Tournament to face the Calhoun Lady Eagles. The Lady Tigers were there to defend their number one seed . The girls were on their game in the first quarter playing a complete game on both defense and offense. Using the press the girls created numerous turnovers and converting them into many scoring opportunities and after the first quarter the Lady Tigers led 30-3. In the second quarter the girls worked on several different defenses to keep the Lady Eagles confused and the bench started to receive more playing time. At the half it was the Rich HIll 50 Calhoun 7. In the third quarter with the game well in hand the Tigers cleared the bench and the starters took a seat to cheer on their team mates and watch them extend the lead to 75-14. With a running clock the girls finished the game winning 83-17.
Scoring for the Tigers: Allie Taylor 24, Robin Schapeler 13, Kassi Austin 12, Jen Doty and Taylor Coonce 8, Kearston Baze 6, and Serena Duncan , Taylor Brooks, Delta Johnson with 2 a piece.
Leading Rebounders were Allie Taylor 13, Taylor Coonce and Jen Doty with 5 each. Taylor Coonce led in steals with 7 and Robin Schapeler with 5. The Lady Tigers play next on Thursday night at 4:30 against either Miami or NEVC.
