The Varsity Boys captured the championship of the Skyline Tournament Saturday night with a 75-62 victory over the Skyline Tigers. In what turned out to be a very physical game, the Rich Hill Tigers showed they were able to keep their composure by hitting 19 of 25 free throws to seal the victory. The first quarter was back and forth with 6 different lead changes. Rich Hill hit a shot with 8 seconds left in the quarter to give them a 15-14 lead after one. The second quarter saw the Tigers extend their lead thanks to unselfish play and great defense. At the half the Tigers led by a score of 33-24. As the 3rd quarter began, the Tigers were able to keep the opposing Tigers from mounting a comeback due to balanced scoring by 6 different players. At one point in the 4th quarter the Tigers extended their lead to 20 points. However, Skyline made a great effort to comeback only to fall short. The Tigers record is now 15-0 on the season. Their next game is Tuesday night at El Dorado Springs.
