3rd Place Finish for Varsity Girls

On Saturday afternoon the Lady Tigers returned to the Archie tournament to face the Holden Lady Eagles for the third place game. After coming off a disappointing loss to Adrian in the semi-finals the Tigers were ready to get back into the win column. The first quarter started out sluggish for both teams with neither finding a good flow to the game and at the end of one the score was Rich Hill 8 Holden 6. The second quarter neither team seemed to find an advantage but Holden took the half time lead of  18-17. The third quarter was filled with a lack of offense and foul trouble for both teams and Rich Hill holding a 22-20 lead. The fourth quarter the Lady Tigers finally got on track scoring 18 points and holding their opponents to 10 and won the game 40-30.

The leading scorers for the Lady Tigers were Taylor Coonce with 13, Jen Doty 9, Allie Taylor 8, Serena Duncan 4 and Taylor Brooks and Robin Schapeler with 3 each. The leading rebounders were Allie Taylor with 7, Taylor Coonce 5 and Taylor Brooks with 4.

After the conclusion of the tournament Allie Taylor was selected to the all tournament team for the second year in a row. The girls next play on Tuesday night against Bronaugh with 1/2 JVG game and a full varsity game to follow. Game time is 6:00 PM

The girl’s record stands at 14-5.
