The JV Tigers traveled to Jayhawk-Linn for a double header. In the first game of the evening the Lady Tigers started out playing strong defense and jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the first quarter. In the second frame the defense continued strong and the girls led at the half 12-4. In the second half both team’s offenses got in gear and both teams scored 12 points each and the third quarter end 24-10. The Lady Tigers defense again stiffened up and held the Jayhawk-Linn team to 4 points and the Lady Tigers won the game 31-18.
Leading scorers were Jen Doty 15, Kylann Tourtillot 9, Kassi Austin 4, Katie Malone 2 and Kearston Baze with 1.
In the second game of the evening the JV Boys were determined to play a better game than they had shown all year. Playing a solid first quarter and using a good defense the boys led 12-4 after one. in the second quarter the defense broke down a little but the offense was able to maintain a lead and at the half the Tigers led 28-19. The third quarter both teams traded baskets with each scoring 12 points and the Tigers lead 40-31. The fourth quarter the young Tigers caught offensive fire taking a page out of the varsity playbook and ran the floor with authority and saw many fastbreaks and quality assist. The game ended with the Tigers winning 61-39.
