The JV Lady Tigers started Friday night with nice win. It was only a 2 quarter game but they played with focus and came out strong offensively and defensively and took a 14-0 lead after one quarter. In the second quarter the girls had built enough of a lead that everyone got significant playing time. In the second quarter Lakeland got their offense going and was able to score 13 points but he Lady Tigers were never really in danger and won the game 20-13.

In the girls Varsity contest the Lady Tigers met the Lady Vikings in another WEMO conference contest. The Lady Tigers were 3-1 in the conference trying to keep pace with the leaders. In the first quarter the Lady Tigers came out using their press to create several early turnovers and were able to convert them into points and led after the first quarter 21-9. In the second quarter the Tigers were able to continue on their offensive output but foul trouble again raised it’s ugly head which saw three starters sitting on the bench to finish the half but the Lady Tigers held a lead of 42-19. In the second half the Varsity girls started out slowly and had some troubles with fouls and turnovers and were not as crisp as the first half and Lakeland was able to get a little more offensive going and at the end of 3 it was Rich Hill 55 Lakeland 35. In the fourth quarter both team play pretty evenly but the girls had again built enough of a lead the came was never in real question the second half and Rich Hill won the game 72-53. It was the second highest scoring game of the season for the Lady Tigers. Coach Morgan commented after the game he was pleased with the win but would like to see the girls tighten up their defense to finish out the season. The Lady Tigers are now 17-6 overall for the season and 4-1 in conference play. The teams is in control of their destiny for
the chance to win a piece of the conference title. The girls play next on Tuesday
night at Osceola in another important conference game.
