Boys Advance to District Championship

The Rich Hill Tigers took the court last night in the semi-finals of the District 13 basketball tournament against the Greenfield Wildcat. Both teams came ready to play and early in the game both showed why they had advanced in the tournament. The Wildcats came out shooting the long ball and hit three 3’s early in the quarter and lead by as many as six and at the end of one it was Greenfield 15 Rich Hill 13. In the second quarter the Tigers were able to tighten up the defense and settled in a better offensive flow and took the lead at the half 31-23. The second half it looked like that the Tigers might be able to pull away by getting up to a 11 point lead but that lead would evaporate quickly and at the end of the third quarter Rich Hill was holding onto a slim one point lead of 45-44. In the fourth quarter both teams made runs at each other and Greenfield took a one point lead during the quarter. Every time Rich Hill would get a small lead Greenfield would drop one in from long range. In the end the Tigers were able to get a small lead and Greenfield would foul in order to get the ball back. Rich Hill hit 9-12 from the foul line which helped seal the victory. The final Score was Rich Hill 65 Greenfield 54.

The Rich Hill Tigers will now move on to face the Lockwood Tigers on Saturday night at 7:30 in the Dome for the District Championship. The Girls Championship will be played at 6:00 between the Adrian Blackhawks and the Jasper Eagles. It should be a full house on Saturday night so come out and support the Rich Hill Tigers boys basketball team..

Scoring last night for the Tigers: Bryant Courter 31, Aadin Humble and Blaine Robb with 9 each, Cole Heckadon 8 and Jacob Mumma and Alec Gray with 4 each.
