Tough Loss for Tigers at Adrian

The Tigers traveled to Adrian this past Friday evening for an early 5:30 pm football game on a very wet and muddy field.  The final score was Rich Hill 19 – Adrian 20.

Coach Wolfe stated, “We had a week full of distractions, sickness, injuries, etc but our guys pulled together and fought hard for their brothers all game long.”
Rich Hill got on the board with a kickoff return by  Jacob Querry in which he took the kick off 86 yards for the touch down.  After missing the extra point the Tigers were down 13-6.
The next score was on a 20 yard pass from Taron Mumma to Dalen Lewis.  “It was a great throw and a fantastic catch by Dalen to go up in traffic and bring down the catch.” -Coache Wolfe
The Tigers made the extra point and tied it up 13-13.
The final score was on a pass from Taron to Aadin Humble on a post route, also in double coverage. “Aadin is our go to guy and he made a spectacular leap and grab for the touchdown!” -Coach Wolfe
The Tigers once again missed the extra point and trailed 20-19. with 6:49 left in the game.
The Tigers got the ball back on a couple of Blackhawk fumbles. The first time the boys couldn’t get past the 40 yard line and turned it over on downs. The second time the Tigers lost the ball to an interception.
The Tigers kept the Blackhawks from making a first down and running out the game clock and  got the ball with about 46 seconds left. With no time outs the Tigers knew there were only  a few plays to get in field goal range or score a touchdown.
“We had gotten the look we wanted on the last pass that was intercepted, but we had made the wrong read. We went back to it and got the right read, but as Taron threw the ball he was hit from behind which caused the final interception.” -Coach Wolfe
Houston Bridgewater led the Tigers on defense with 12 tackles followed by fellow senior Myles Becker with 8.
