Lady Tigers vs. Wheatland

On Tuesday night the Lady Tigers took on a new opponent in the form of the Lady Mules from Wheatland. The Lady Mules are ranked high in the polls of 1A coming into the game with a record of 21-1 so the Tigers had their work cut out for them. In the first quarter the visitors put on a good press but with patience Rich Hill was able to break it and make a couple of easy baskets. The problem though was when the Mules came back down the floor they bombed away from long range so even with the same number of field goals they were able to build a lead and add a couple of more to lead after one 23-12. The Lady Tigers were able to slow the visitors in the second quarter and play them for the quarter within one but at the half the Mules lead the Tigers 35-23. In the second half the Tigers got into foul trouble and the Mules kept shooting from long range and that the way the game continued until the end with the Lady Tigers losing 71-39. Wheatland was probably the best shooting team that the Tigers had faced all year with the Mules hitting around 70% for the game. The Lady Tigers record dropped to 11-11 for the season.

Their next game will be Friday night at home against the Osceola Lady Indians in a conference game. The schedule will be 1/2 JVG at 5:30 followed by 1/2 JVB then the Varsity girls and Varsity boys. Next  Tuesday night’a game against the Lakeland Vikings will be Senior Night.
