Rich Hill vs. Liberal

Tuesday night junior varsity boys, varsity girls and boys played at home against Liberal.  The junior varsity boys started the evening off.  The boys struggled to get points on the board and suffered a loss.

The girls followed with a close game throughout and came back at the end with an overtime victory.

The varsity boys were coming off a tough loss in the WEMO conference championship game hoping to rebound with a victory. The Bulldogs starting roster were all seniors so the experience plus their size was a concern to start the game. Offensively both teams came out hot but by the  middle of the first quarter the Liberal team was able to pull ahead and lead after one 24-16. In the second quarter the Tigers tightened up their defense and made adjustments to the Bulldogs good pressure defense so the offense was more effective . The Tigers were able to cut into the Liberal lead and only trailed by one at the  half 31-32.  In the third quarter the Tigers were able to lock the defense much better and held the Bulldogs to only six points and take the lead 43-38. The fourth quarter was one of a very tightening game and towards the end of the game the score was either tied our there was a lead change. The Tigers hit a couple of big treys to help finally take the lead but with ten seconds left in the game the Bulldogs took a timeout to set their final play trailing the Tigers by two. After the inbound pass the Tiger defense stepped up and forced Liberal into a tough shoot and Rich Hill was able to gather in the rebound to win the game 55-53 .

The Tigers improved their record to 4-1 and travel to Lockwood on Friday night for a 5:30 JVB game followed by VG and then the VB. The Tigers had three players in double figure in scoring for the game
