The Rich Tigers traveled to Midway last night for a three game night. The JV Tigers took the floor in the first game and came out strong and played good defense and found themselves with a 12-4 lead after the first quarter. Midway came to life in the second quarter and trimmed the lead for the Tigers 17-13. The third quarter saw both teams stay even and Rich Hill lead 28-23. The fourth quarter saw the game get exciting as Midway hit a couple of threes and closed the gap to tie the score.
At the end of the game the Tigers were able to hit 8/9 free throws which lead to the JV Tigers gaining the victory 43-40. Scoring for the Tigers were Sage Bolser with 11, Bryce Lewis 9, Lane Brown 8, Nate Kithcart 7, Clifton Bridgewater 4, Bryce Yohe 3, and Adrien King added one.
In the last game of the evening the Varsity Tigers were looking to get back into the win column after a loss the night before. The Tigers came out playing a fast pace offense and man to man defense and took the early lead 16-10.
In the second frame Midway was able to close the gap to 27-26 at the half with a couple of Tigers sitting on the bench in foul trouble.
Coach Moles made his half time adjustments in the defense and a more efficient offense and it paid dividends with Tigers opening up a ten point lead in the third quarter 45-35.
The Tiger defense tightened up in the final frame holding Midway to just four points and which allowed the team from Rich Hill to win the game 53-39. The Tigers placed three players in double figures lead by Kolby Stueck, Jerry Lakey and Sabin Bolser. The Tigers improved their record to 13-6 for the season. The Tigers will play again on Thursday night at home against the Archie Whirlwinds in a rescheduled game from earlier in the month. There will only be a varsity girls and boys game that night starting at 5:30
