Mrs. Stevener’s seventh grade Family & Consumer Sciences (FACS) students have been hard at work! The students started out the semester with a sewing unit. They learned to do basic hand stitches, sew on a button, and make a simple pattern. They then used these skills to design and create their very own felt critters. Next, the students moved up to the sewing machine and showed off their talents by making a pillow.
For the remainder of the semester, the class will be learning to cook. They will practice teamwork in a lab setting, develop new skill sets, and make some delicious food along the way. This week, the class developed their knife skills. They started out practicing with play dough, and they ended the week by making apple swans.
