Rich Hill students had the opportunity to learn a little about the events in Bates County during the Cicil War on a field trip today.
The first stop of the day was at the Bates County Museum. Peggy Buhr introduced students to some of the events in the county during the war and then showed them around the museum. Next students traveled to the square where they viewed the monument dedicated to the 1st Kansas Volunteer Regiment and lastly the group traveled out to the Island Mound Site.
Also important was a stop at Pizza Hut for lunch before returning back to school.
Many thinks to Peggy Buhr for sharing her knowledge!
