Lady Tigers Lose a Close One

The Rich Hill Lady Tigers traveled to Archie on Tuesday night for the first round of the Archie Tournament to face Adrian’s Lady Blackhawks. Rich Hill is the seventh seed and Adrian is the number two seed in the Archie Tournament.

The game started out with promise as the Lady Tigers came out fast and furious with a good press and a clicking offense. The Blackhawks seemed a little stunned and the Tigers took a first quarter lead 16-8. Early foul trouble for the Tigers allowed Adrian a chance to regroup and they were able to pull closer at the half with a score of 29-24. The third quarter saw the foul troubles for Lady Tiger deepen with untimely turnovers and missing some short shots the Tigers fell behind at the end of the third quarter 36-39. Starting  fourth quarter the Lady Tigers were able to hang with the Blackhawks but with three starters exiting to the bench by fouling out the team just couldn’t overcome these factors and found themselves at the end of a very well played game losing  56-47.

The Leading scorers for the Lady Tigers were Allie Taylor with 15 Jordann Wheatley with 8 and Robing Schapeler with 7. The next opponent for the Lady Tigers will be the Butler Bears at 7:30 on Wednesday night in the consolation bracket of the tournament.
